Flyte, a company founded by Simon Morris and Chris Higham, creates products using creative techniques and vintage design. The two founders met in Sweden and are pros at what they do. Simon, the founder plays with matter, energy, and gravity to create unique products like the levitating Nike sneaker and the hovering skateboard. The co-founder, Chris, is a professional cinematographer and designer who enjoys the outer space. Together, they are able to create very innovative inventions. The company's best known product is the FLYTE levitating light bulb, but they also have other amazing products including the LYFE planter, the STORY timepiece, and the ARC space bulb.

FLYTE Levitating Light Bulb

The most popular and the most unique item is the FLYTE levitaing light bulb. It was named one of TIME Magazine's Best Invention of 2016 and it is the winner of the LIT Aqard Lighting Product design of 2017. This bulb hovers over a base using magnetic levitation and is not powered by electricity. It is powered through the air, giving off a warm, white light. The base was designed in Sweden and is made out of oak, ash, and walnut. Hovering above this base is the actual light bulb. It is energy efficient becuase the LEDs in the shatterproof bulb can be used for 50,000 hours, which is the same as 12 hours of regular light usage for 11 years. There are four different designs of the FLYTE levitating light bulb. The first one, Nikola is named after Nikola Tesla and has a MARCONI bulb hovering over the Walnut base. The second bulb is named Buckminster after Buckminster Fuller and has a borosilicate glass bulb with a Copper cap and an aluminum ring. The third design is inspired by New York City's skyline and is named Manhattan. This bulb is similar to the Buckminster, but has a Chrome cap instead. Lastly, the Royal is the bulb with a Gold cap that hovers over Oak wood. All four of these designs retail for 299.00 US dollars each.

CLOCK Timepiece

Another extremely innovative product is the STORY timepiece. This consists of a levitaing metallic sphere that hovers and orbits around a wooden base that helps tell time. It is a special way to see time and can be controlled manually. It is more than an ordinary clock- it allows the user to completely personalize its look, and time's journeys. The base can have either Walnut or Oak finishes. It also has a backlit display that allows STORY to be illuminated in any color. The time of day can be displayed right in the center of the wood as well. Of course, STORY can tell time, but it can also count down the time until significant moments in the user's life. There are three settings. The first is just an ordinary clock, that counts the hours, minutes, and seconds in a day. The second setting is a timer that counts down. Lastly, there is the Journey mode that allows the product to be used as a timeline, counting down days until a big event. STORY got its name from metaphor for our planet always revolving around the sum. Time is not a secret, it is something that is experience daily and with important people.
