Catherine Chiu

About Me

Hello! My name is Catherine Chiu and I am a junior at Brea Olinda High School. I have been a part of the GITA Program for 3 years now and I am thoroughly enjoying it. Freshmen year, I took GITA 1, which was a classe teaching the C# language. Last year, I took GITA 2, which was a class teaching HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I also self studied for the AP Computer Science Principles AP test, which I scored a five on.

This year, I am part of GITA 3, which is a more creative coding class. Some other classes I am taking this year include AP Calculus AB, AP US History, AP Lang, and AP Physics 1. Although the classes are quite difficult, I am always up for a challenge and am working hard to maintain a high GPA. I am also part of the Dance Production team and BOHS Link Crew. Some clubs I am involved in include Lady IT, Key Club, and Let Her Learn.

Outside of school, I dance about 10 to 15 hours a week, and love to spend time with my family, my friends, my puppy named Mocha and travel. Some places I've been to are Taiwan, China, Japan, Nepal, the Netherlands, Iceland, and England. My dream college is currently Columbia, where I would like to major in Business, and minor in Dance or Computer Science. After undergraduate school, I hope to go to medical school and puruse a profession in the medical field.
